In Tasiilaq it is very difficult to find a house, so now that we are on leave it is an extra challenge for us. Still, we had peace that night, because we had been praying for another house for a long time and it felt like God gave us the extra push.

How to move forward?

Our eye had been on an old white house for some time, which no one has lived in since 2021. It is a ruin, but with potential and it is 30m2 larger than our 74m2 rental house. This white house was just not for sale for years. But the day after the notice, the house was for sale! I immediately called and then it became clear that the house has great interest in Tasiilaq. This is because it is very difficult to get anything there. An offer must be made by the end of this week, Friday, June 7. The highest bid wins. The house was originally offered for sale for almost €7,000. The house is in poor condition, but it has a foundation of concrete, which is of interest to us. In addition, there is running water and a sewer. Some houses do not have a sewer and yet others do not have running water either.

We want to make an offer for the house on Friday and if we take possession of it it will have to be totally renovated or even torn down and rebuilt. Will you pray with us? A lot depends on this, but even if we would not get it we will have to look for a permanent solution.

In the meantime, we have been offered a 66m2 house for rent, which is therefore even a bit smaller than the current one and almost twice as expensive. This will have to do and we are grateful that we can continue to serve God in Tasiilaq! There are already two other people who want to be baptized when we return. The work continues!

Along with this we are also planning the expansion of the mission house, because the children's room has really become too small. But that is news for another update.

How could you help? Besides prayer, we need people who could help build a potential new home this summer. But we are also looking for people who would be willing to provide an interest-free loan. This is all a big faith project for us, but after building the mission house in 2020, we have had the experience that God is leading in all of this. We will keep you posted!
